In the wee hours of the morning in silence absolute,
I reach for an overwhelming peace nothing can pollute.
I connect with the bed, with the floor all the way to the wall,
With the earth underneath, with the roots and the grass,
The avocado tree out my window,
I connect with all.
I cannot see it in this muted light,
But can feel its presence,
I intertwine with its essence.
I drink it in and I can feel this is, my home.
I intertwine with its essence.
I drink it in and I feel that this is, my home.
I caress your smooth skin,
Enveloping you in sleepy warmth,
Separating you from the cold night air...
You... diamond among icicles.
I cannot see you in this muted light but,
I feel your presence
And I intertwine with your essence.
I draw you in and i feel, I'm home.
One with forest the birds and the breeze,
One with the lion and the hare,
The elephant and the termite, the snake and the dove.
I am one with the sky scraper and Kilimanjaro.
And every machine crafted from the iron of the earth.
I cannot see it all in this muted light,
But i can feel its presence,
I intertwine with its essence.
I sip it all in and i can feel this is, my home.
I am the son of the soil,
I'm one with everything planted in her,
Houses and trees,
one with all that feeds on her,
Sleeps on her and leaps off from her,
One with every soul that steps on her.
I am one with all the world.
I cannot see you all in this dim light but,
I feel your presence
And i intertwine with your essence
And let the peace flood me.
I let it all in and i feel you are, my home.
I move with ground to the fence,
I connect with the house next door,
I can feel the ground connect with the belly
Of that menacing bulldog lying on the lawn.
I connect with the house next door,
I can feel the ground connect with the belly
Of that menacing bulldog lying on the lawn.
I feel the existence of the tarred road out my gate
And I follow her dendritic web wherever it goes.
I cannot see it in this muted light,
But I can feel its presence,I intertwine with its essence.
I drink it in and I feel that this is, my home.
I follow the road to your house, my love,
I don't need to use the gate or the door,
I move with the ground to your room to your bed...
And I'm one with the blankets cradling your body,
I feel one with you,I caress your smooth skin,
Enveloping you in sleepy warmth,
Separating you from the cold night air...
You... diamond among icicles.
I cannot see you in this muted light but,
I feel your presence
And I intertwine with your essence.
I draw you in and i feel, I'm home.
I am one with the ground as it deeps into the sea,
One with the whale and the tiniest minoe. One with forest the birds and the breeze,
One with the lion and the hare,
The elephant and the termite, the snake and the dove.
And every machine crafted from the iron of the earth.
I cannot see it all in this muted light,
But i can feel its presence,
I intertwine with its essence.
I sip it all in and i can feel this is, my home.
I am the son of the soil,
I'm one with everything planted in her,
Houses and trees,
one with all that feeds on her,
Sleeps on her and leaps off from her,
One with every soul that steps on her.
I am one with all the world.
I cannot see you all in this dim light but,
I feel your presence
And i intertwine with your essence
And let the peace flood me.
I let it all in and i feel you are, my home.
